Before You Call

Push down on the drum. If it bounces more than once, or sways more than about an inch, the suspension is worn. Also check that the machine is level — a lot of OC garage slabs aren't.

Worth Knowing

On LG, lowercase uE means the machine is still trying to rebalance itself, so give it five to ten minutes. Uppercase UE means it gave up. And rods always go in as a set of four — replacing one worn rod out of four just moves the problem to the next corner.
