LG Dryer Problems We See

LG dryers report airflow with Flow Sense, and the number is the restriction percentage the sensor calculates: d80 is about 80 percent restricted, and d90 and d95 are worse.

Three things are worth knowing. On gas dryers, d80 can mean insufficient gas supply rather than a blocked vent — that's LG's own documentation. Foil flex duct causes the code by itself, because the deep corrugations create turbulence and back pressure that Flow Sense reads as a blockage; LG specifies 4-inch rigid or semi-rigid metal only. And a tight 90° bend behind a dryer pushed against the wall restricts nearly as much as a lint clog.

If the code persists after a clean vent, it's internal duct lint, the blower housing, or the sensor itself — that needs testing, not another vent cleaning. In the field the order runs: a blocked exterior vent first, internal duct lint second, and an actual sensor failure a distant third.

LG Washer Problems We See

On LG washers, lowercase uE means the machine is still trying to rebalance itself, and uppercase UE means it gave up and stopped. Direct-drive units run redistribution cycles for several minutes before escalating, so it's worth waiting out the lowercase before calling.

If UE comes up on every load regardless of size, the suspension is worn. The field test is to push down on the drum: more than about an inch of sway, or it bounces more than once, and the rods are done. Persistent balance codes are worn suspension rods, replaced as a set — all four, never one, because worn rods fail as a set.

Level the machine before condemning parts; a lot of OC garage slabs aren't level, and that alone throws UE. Also check the shock absorbers, and the door boot if drum movement has torn it.

Fill, drain, and door faults show as IE, OE, and dE.
